Scout Program
Place: LDS Church Redwood City (1745 Edgewood Road)   map
Time: Starts at 8:30 but varies with classes and appointments.
Date: January 13, 2001 Saturday (Martin Luther King weekend)

Registration: by web form or by regular snail mail.
Last day to register: Jan 5, 2001  Advanced registration only; no signups at the door.
Cost: $10 (scholarships available) Lunch included

There are 2 different program features being offered:

  1. Individual Appointments: These are for Scouts who have started and completed merit badges requirements. Based on the merit badge, we will have counselor appointments setup in advance. The Scout is expected to have all requirements completed and ready to be reviewed. The scout should bring his book, all written material and proof of completion. Some requirements may need to be signed off by the scoutmaster or a letter signed with explanation about the requirement completion. The Counselor is there to assist the scout in completing the badge. ALL MERIT BADGES WILL BE AVAILABLE but only with advanced signup. (Advanced signup is required so counselor can contact scout early if necessary.

  2. Classes: These classes are for scouts starting and wanting to complete merit badges that day. Scouts must complete some requirements in advance. Advanced reading and requirements are listed for each class. CLASS SIZES ARE LIMITED, SO SIGN UP EARLY
    4 hour classes (require morning and afternoon): First Aid, Crime Prevention
    Morning classes: Citzenship in Community, Citzenship in Nation, Fire Safety, Law, Indian Lore, Aviation
    Afternoon Classes: Citzenship in Community, Citzenship in Nation, Finger Printing, Medicine, Leatherwork, Aviation, Swimming

During lunch there will be a special program on Life to Eagle. Open to all Scouts and Adult leaders.

Procedure for signup

  a. Get a signed blue card from you scoutmaster
b. Signup on the net or mail in the registration form (internet preferred)
c. Mail in the $10.00 (or use web payment)
d. Read the Merit badge booklet and do the prerequisites.
e. Wear your uniform to the Midway and “Be Prepared”
