September Pack Meeting

We had a great start to the year at our first meeting. There were lots of new scouts in addition to the familiar ones. Each returning Scout received a service star pin with a number for his years of service. Den 1 did a great job with their skits, setting a good example for the other dens to follow. Hrishikesh S., Cris K., Joshua M. and Travis B. all won snap lights in the drawing.

Awards

Alexander N. got a silver Arrow Point to go with his Wolf Badge. Zachary H. and Justin S. received their Compass Point emblems. Webelos activity pins were earned by several boys: Seth D. got Fitness, Kevin R. got Handyman, and Zachary H. got Engineer and Naturalist. Great job over the summer!

Scouting for Food

Coming up in November is our annual food collection drive. We will distribute bags in the neighborhood on Nov. 13 and pick up the bags filled with food on Nov. 20. The food goes to Second Harvest Food Bank, which distributes it to needy people. You will be hearing more about this later, but please keep these dates in mind.

Cub-Parent Weekend

The Wild West Weekend at the Boulder Creek Scout Reservation was a rootin'-tootin' sucess. On Saturday there was archery, BB guns, leather and bead crafts, gold panning, rubber band gun making and telegraphy. In the evening we had a wonderful campfire program with skits and yells and Bob Keller providing a great selection of songs on his guitar. Sunday morning there was an incredible treasure hunt that provided a fun and rewarding challenge for all, and an opportunity to practice the ability to work together.
