JanuaryPack Meeting

Our First Aid training session worked out quite well. The Webelos taught the younger Scouts some basic skills, and had to learn the lessons thoroughly themselves in order to do the teaching. The smaller size of the audience at each station made for less crowding and more individual attention.

Awards
|
Nathan P. got his Traveler badge, and Zachary R. was extremely busy: he received Scholar, Naturalist, Citizen and Artist badges.
 |
At the Stanford District Awards Dinner, Richard Swent received the Flame of Leadership Award for his contributions to Pack 6 during the last four years. |

Bowling Field Trip
|
February 27, 1:00 PM (until we all get tired). Call your Den Leader for more
details. Bring the family, bring snacks, and knock 'em down! Meet outside the front door. If you can't make it until later, come on in and look for us.

Arrow of Light
|
The March pack meeting will be the Arrow of Light Ceremony for our fifth-grade Webelos. The Arrow of Light is the highest award in Cub Scouting, and is a major accomplishment. We will meet at the Lucie Stern Community Center Fire Circle for this special pack meeting. We will be outside, so come prepared.

Pinewood Derby
|
This event is the highlight of the year for many boys. Our event will be held on 3/12, with the workshop the weekend before. Each Scout should get a car kit from his Den Leader. Siblings and parents can buy their own at the Scout store and compete in the open category. Remember that the boys are supposed to design and build the car, with help from parents.

If you have not yet made a donation, please do so, to help the Council to continue its excellent program. We get a discount at the store if we make our goal.

Joke of the Month
|
A duck walked into a pharmacy, picked up some Chapstick and went to the cash register. The cashier asked the duck "Will that be cash or charge?" The duck answered "Just put it on my bill."
